Frequently Asked Questions
For performers considering applying, additional information is included in the FAQs. Reviewing them may help you feel more informed and confident before applying.
-
Yes! Vivalesque believes performers deserve to be compensated for their time, talent, and preparation. All performers receive a guaranteed payment per act.
The only exception would be fundraising events where compensation is structured differently (such as performers being paid through tips or another agreed upon format). Any fundraising show will be clearly identified before performers apply, and all compensation terms will be provided upfront. Performers will confirm they have read and agreed to the terms during the application process to ensure transparency and avoid any confusion.
-
Absolutely! You do not need prior stage experience to apply. If you have been working on an act and feel ready to bring it to the stage, whether it is your first or fiftieth performance, you are welcome here. We ask that applicants have a developed performance concept, as this opportunity is for prepared performers rather than casual participation.
-
We typically select 5 to 6 performers per show, with each performer presenting 2 acts. Keeping casts small allows us to prioritize higher payouts and ensure each performer has more stage time.
-
A transparency report is a document sent to all performers after each Vivalesque show. It outlines how expenses are allocated, how revenue is distributed, and how much each performer is paid, so everyone can clearly see how the show is run financially. This helps maintain accountability and transparency within Vivalesque and supports openness within the Denver burlesque community. Performers are always welcome to ask questions about anything included in the report.
-
Vivalesque provides performers with snacks and treats throughout the show to help keep everyone comfortable and taken care of. We also offer silk robe coverups for use while getting ready or as backstage cover ups between acts.
Performers receive a video recording of their act after the show, and in most cases a local professional photographer (already hired and paid by Vivalesque) will capture performance photos during the event.
Most importantly, we prioritize creating a safe, supportive, and well-organized environment for every performer.

The most reliable way to stay updated is by checking vivalesque.com under the Apply tab or joining the performer newsletter. These will always have the latest casting call information. Updates are also sometimes shared on Vivalesque’s Instagram (@vivalesque).
-
Performers in duet or group acts are paid per act, not per performer. The guaranteed payment for the act will be clearly listed in the application details, and performers are responsible for deciding how compensation is divided among their group.
All performers participating in the act will be acknowledged during the application process, and compensation details will be communicated upfront to ensure everyone is on the same page before the show.
